New Image Brewing feels like that cool, genuinely sincere upperclassman that takes time to remember my name even though I’m just a freshman. I can’t help but have a crush on this brewery. They’re hometown sweethearts who aren’t from this hometown of Arvada; but none the less, have laid down deep roots in its historic district. Sojourn they did from east and west to settle in the midst of the mountains and beer mecca. New Image Brewing is the Colorado-kind-of-laid back. It’s definitely in no hurry to get where it’s going, it’s enjoying the thrill ride. Not one to indulge in trends, they follow the beat of their own drum and that tune has taken them on an upward trajectory.

While New Image Brewing’s journey took them deeper into the artistry of craft beer, it became evident that social aspects of beer were going to be the focus of this program. What do I mean? Let’s start with the fact that communal tables are the only ones you will find there. These sturdy welded tables, encircled by their General Manager’s (the ever gracious, Gavin Estes) own remarkable photography, serve as launching pads for families and friends and lovers to commune. It’s about doing life together. They are always ready for that next big thing when that next big thing involves community.

Posted up in the epicenter of Arvada, they unabashedly embrace the municipality where they work and play. On the heels of its second anniversary, exciting things are on the horizon for this growing brewery. They are eager to please patrons with new and innovative styles with classic foundations. New Image Brewing has captured the attention of beer drinkers in all corners of the Metro-D. In response to this brewery’s unimaginable affection, locals have steadfastly reciprocated– their cans are selling out all over the 303! With this increasing demand, comes the promise of some exciting brewery and canning expansions happening for the team in the calendar year. Look to them for more collaborative efforts as well, particularly with Broomfield friends, Four Noses, and FoCo friends, Funkwerks.

Collaboration and local sourcing is what they are all about at New Image Brewing. My go-to Brett Saison, Dyad, is a collaboration with Boulder’s Rowdy Merimaid Kombucha and is profiled by a lemonade tartness. On the other side of the spectrum, they have their silky vanilla imperial stout, Melanoidin, in tow along with several variants of both the Dyad and Melanoidin for enthusiasts to enjoy. One such variant of dyad, Blackberries & Cream Dyad threw my flagship favorite into a velvet dreamland. Hitting at 7.5% ABV, the variant like its parent sour, leaves you with a little kick but doesn’t throw down like a big beer. Its easy lemon kombucha undertones play ever so nicely with the juicy blackberry. Next up was Fruit Ninja which lit up my tongue with a sparkle of carbonation. The effervescent fruit beer saunters in at a 5.5% and leaves your mouth watering for more of its luscious prickly pear and pink peppercorn tag team duo. The definition of an easy drinker, you can’t want for more than a sunny day on the NIB back patio with this brew in hand.

They have a passion for the science behind brewing and it’s evident that no matter who you talk with, they all can articulate what is important for you as a beer consumer to know about its uniqueness. For those not in the know, New Image has a lynchpin love affair with great beer. It’s contagious what NIB is about and what they offer. In a world where the only constant is change, New Image Brewing flies into the future with confidence. Winning awards, topping the lists and taking names. As a local fan, it is intoxicating to watch their humble enjoyment while they achieve their success. Life will always color the beer they produce. It’s all big hearts, big plans and big love for what they do and who they do it for.
